When Jayvee Lyn Lorejo was crowned Miss Global Philippines 2026 in June, the 27-year-old beauty vowed to work hard to successfully represent the country in the international pageant that will take place from September 29 to October 11 in Thailand.

“I’ll work hard because I really want to win to make everybody proud, especially my lola,” said Jayvee, who hails from the Davao Region and credits her grandmother for raising her to be strong and hardworking.

She then mentioned her plans of undergoing rigorous training to improve her communications skills, pasarela walks, and knowledge of global issues, as well as strengthening her advocacies.

One of those advocacies is called Pangga Project, which she spearheaded to ensure care for and uphold the dignity of the elderly by providing healthcare access, basic needs, and a cash capital program.

“Para mauwi natin ang korona,” she declared, eliciting an enthusiastic reaction from those who stayed for the press conference that followed the coronation ceremony.

Another aspect of Jayvee’s Miss Global preparations is fitness. She told The Fitness Advocate at the event that she discovered hot mat Pilates around February 2026, just after competing in her first national pageant, Miss World Philippines.

Hot mat Pilates is a variation of matwork, also known as the non-equipment type of this holistic exercise system.

It combines core-strengthening Pilates principles with functional strength and low-impact cardio while providing extra benefits from the heated room. These benefits include sweat-driven detoxification and higher calorie burn.

Jayvee said she attends a hot mat Pilates class up to five times a week, if she’s not busy. At times, she also goes to a similar class, which is hot yoga.

“One thing that I’ve observed while in those hot classes, my skin is really glowing,” she pointed out. “Papawisan ka talaga nang papawisan.”

She added, “I think I also lose weight because of that. It also makes me a lot fit and parang hindi na ako nagkakasakit lately.”

When it comes to nutrition, Jayvee clarified that she’s not into dieting. In fact, she eats practically everything any time, even at midnight, when a craving arises.

She admitted, though, that she needs to add more vegetables in her diet.

“Di po ako masyadong kumakain ng gulay,” she said. “I only eat meat—beef, pork, chicken. So, I have to change that.”

She stressed that gut nutrition is essential for her to be at peak health, noting the times she couldn’t get enough sleep because of her busy schedule and as a result, she couldn't be at her optimum.

“Tumatanda na tayo,” she said lightheartedly, showing her humorous side.

Hail the queen!

Jayvee’s formal introduction as Miss Global Philippines 2026 happened a month after ALV Pageant Circle Management Inc., which holds the local franchise for Miss Global, announced the resignation of its original choice, Valerie West.

Jayvee and Valerie competed in Miss World Philippines 2026, which was held in February and won by Asia Rose Simpson. They both made it to Top 10 and claimed several special prizes, particularly Miss Photogenic for Jayvee.

The decision to have Jayvee as the final choice for Miss Global Philippines 2026 came from ALV Pageant Circle Management Inc. president and national director Arnold L. Vegafria after consulting with other members of the organization.

“I can consider Jayvee as the epitome of a perfect candidate for Miss Global,” he declared at the coronation ceremony.

“Jayvee is the number one among all of the choices. And I think also she has the heart, the talent, and the attitude. She is very respectful. And I'm sure she will do her best to get that first Miss Global crown under the ALV Pageant Circle.”

The sudden turn of events came as a surprise to Jayvee herself.

“As someone who was raised in a small town in that region, representing our country in the international stage is something I did not expect,” she admitted.

“Honestly, it still feels a little surreal. Aside from I feel very lucky, I feel also very excited because I'll be competing in one of my favorite countries in the world, Thailand.”

The travel lover added, “What truly touched me is that the people online, especially the pageant media, are vouching for me to be their representative for Miss Global.”

At the same time, Jayvee acknowledged that the opportunity entails a huge responsibility.

"But, you know, those people who believed in me and trust me with my capabilities really pushed me to accept the challenge," she pointed out, extending her gratitude foremost to the ALV head and the rest of the organization.

"They saw the qualities of mine, that they think I can bring home the Miss Global crown," she explained. "And, I believe my authenticity and my being driven, you know, also pushed me to accept the challenge because a true Filipina doesn't back down."

Spoken like a true beauty queen who accepts challenges with "all of her heart."
